Join Professor Krishna G. Palepu and your peers from the Senior Executive Leadership Program Middle East for an engaging session delving into the intricacies of Purpose, Culture, and Strategy: The Why, How, and What for Creating Sustained Excellence.

During this exclusive event, we will explore the compelling case study of Satya Nadella at Microsoft: Instilling a Growth Mindset (LBS128). When Nadella took over as CEO of Microsoft in 2014, he inherited a firm fading toward irrelevance, plagued by internal fights and inertia. A key element of his approach was encouraging Microsoft employees to shift from the company’s historical “know-it-all” culture to a “learn-it-all” curiosity. The case study provides background on Nadella's challenges as a leader and how he and his leadership team executed their culture change effort.

    Session assignment:

    • What was Nadella’s diagnosis of the problem at Microsoft?
    • What actions did he take to address the problems and reposition Microsoft?
    • How effective has he been? What additional challenges do you expect he will face?
    • How would you describe Nadella as a leader?
